Abstract:
The present invention addresses the issue of providing an aqueous pigment dispersion for inkjet recording ink preparation, that provides a high level of both optical density OD for plain paper and gloss values for photographic paper. In addition, the present invention addresses the issue of providing an inkjet recording ink using said aqueous pigment dispersion. This aqueous pigment dispersion contains a dispersion (A) and a dispersion (B) and is characterized by: the dispersion (A) including a pigment (a) and a pigment-dispersing resin; the volume-average particle diameter of the dispersion (A) being at least 40 nm and less than 70 nm; the dispersion (B) including a self-dispersing pigment (b); and the volume-average particle diameter of the dispersion (B) being 70–210 nm.
