Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing an aqueous poly(hydroxyalkanoic acid) suspension, the method comprising a step in which hydrogen peroxide is added to an aqueous poly(hydroxyalkanoic acid) suspension having a pH of 5 or less. Preferably, the addition amount of the hydrogen peroxide is 0.1-1 wt% with respect to solid components including the poly(hydroxyalkanoic acid). Preferably, the number of bacterial cells in the aqueous suspension after the addition of hydrogen peroxide is 4×102 per ml or less. Preferably, the aqueous suspension has a concentration of the solid components including the poly(hydroxyalkanoic acid) of 20-60 wt%.
