Abstract:
Provided is an aqueous polymer emulsion comprising a copolymer having constitutional units derived from a monomer (A), monomer (B), and monomer (C), wherein 25 to 75 mol% of the total amount of carboxy groups in the aqueous polymer emulsion is inside particles formed by polymerization of a monomer mixture including the monomer (A), monomer (B), and monomer (C), and the concentration of a volatile organic compound in the aqueous polymer emulsion is 2000 ppm or less. The monomer (A) is at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of an alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer having an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and a radically-polymerizable monomer having a cyclic structure, monomer (B) is an alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer having an alkyl group having 8 to 22 carbon atoms, and monomer (C) is at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of an unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer and an anhydride thereof.
