Abstract:
The present invention is a method for producing an aqueous solution that contains an acrylic acid-based polymer having a weight average molecular weight of 1500 or lower, and the method is characterized by including a polymerization step of polymerizing a monomer that includes acrylic acid in a reaction system that contains at least one type of chain transfer agent selected from among hypophosphoric acid and salts thereof and phosphorous acid and salts thereof, at least one type of polymerization initiator selected from among azo compounds and peroxides, and water.
