Abstract:
Provided are an arc-welded joint and an arc-welding method. This arc-welded joint has a welded part obtained by overlapping and arc-welding at least two steel plates, wherein, when the throat thickness at the welded part is a and the plate thickness of the uppermost plate is t, the throat thickness and the uppermost plate satisfy a relationship 0.5×t≤a≤1.8×t, and when the surface area of the weld bead in a region from the bead toe of the welded part to 2.0 mm in the direction of the welded metal and a region from the bead toe to 2.0 mm in the direction of the base material is a bead toe surface area STOE, and the area of the region of the bead toe surface area STOE covered by slag is a slag surface area SSLAG, a slag covered area ratio SRATIO as calculated by SRATIO = 100×SSLAG/STOE is 50% or less.
