Abstract:
An arc welding method according to the present disclosure is short-circuit welding in which a workpiece 17 is subjected to an alternating repetition of forward feeding and reverse feeding of a welding wire 18, and the arc welding method comprises at least first to third steps. The materials of the workpiece 17 and the welding wire 18 are each magnesium or a magnesium alloy. In the first step, after a short circuit has been released, a welding current I is increased to a first value IA. In the second step, after the welding current I has reached the first value IA, the welding current I is reduced and is set to a third value IC that is lower than the first value IA before a short circuit occurs. In the third step, after the welding current I has reached the third value IC, the welding current I is maintained at the third value IC until a short circuit is started.
