Abstract:
An area sensor (2) includes: a sensor unit (10) that scans measurement light toward a surveillance area and that detects reflected light associated with the measurement light; a system control unit (20) that controls the sensor unit (10) to output, to an external appliance, sensor information including information about an object in the surveillance area, the information being obtained on the basis of a signal output from the sensor unit (10); and a memory interface (30) to which it is possible to connect a portable external storage device, wherein the system control unit (20) includes a sensor control unit (22B) that controls the sensor unit (10) and a memory control unit (22C) that accesses the external storage device and also includes an activation processing unit (31) that causes the memory control unit (22C) to preferentially operate in the system control unit (20) when the external storage device is connected to the memory interface (30).
