A stator comprising a stator core, a coil body (32), and a coil body support member (60). The coil body (32) has a band member (34) wound in an annular shape along the circumferential direction, a coil (16) formed on the band member (34), and coil-body-side recessed portions (34D) provided to the band member (34). Further, the coil body support members (60) are provided between the stator core and the coil body (32) and mounted to the stator core. In addition, each of the coil body support members (60) has support-member-side protruding portions (62D). The coil body (32) is positioned with respect to the stator core by engaging the support-member-side protruding portions (62D) and the coil-body-side recessed portions (34D) with each other.
