Abstract:

An aromatic polyester which comprises, as constituent units, (A) a repeating unit represented by the following formula (a), (B) a repeating unit derived from an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, (C) a repeating unit derived from an aromatic amine selected from the group consisting of aromatic diamines and hydroxylated aromatic amines, and (D) a repeating unit derived from an aromatic diol, the content of repeating unit (A) being 10 mol% or higher but less than 20 mol%, the content of repeating unit (B) being more than 40 mol% but not more than 45 mol%, the total content of repeating unit (C) and repeating unit (D) being more than 40 mol% but not more than 45 mol%, and the content of repeating unit (D) being more than 0 mol% but less than 15 mol%, with respect to the total amount of repeating units (A) to (D). -O-Ar1-CO- (a) (In the formula, Ar1 represents a 1,4-phenylene, 2,6-naphthylene, or 4,4'-biphenylene group, provided that one or more hydrogen atoms of the group expressed by Ar1 each may have been independently replaced by a halogen atom, an alkyl group, or an aryl group.)
