Abstract:
An array waveguide diffraction grating in which the area where an array waveguide is installed can be decreased without decreasing the minimum bending radius of curvature of the waveguide. The array waveguide diffraction grating comprises an input-side single-mode waveguide (11), an output-side single-mode waveguide (12), an input-side slab waveguide (13), an output-side slab waveguide (14), an input-side taper waveguide (15), an output taper waveguide (16), a bending array waveguide (inside) (17), a bending array waveguide (outside) (18), and a reflecting structure (19). Light incident on the array waveguide diffraction grating is reflected by the reflecting structure (19) in the waveguide and propagated through the output-side waveguide.
