Abstract:
[Problem] To make it possible to reliably determine movement of an article to which an RF tag is attached. [Solution] This article management system 1 comprises: a reader/writer 2 having at least one first antenna 11 placed on a first prescribed region side, and at least one second antenna 12 placed on a second prescribed region side for which the reading region of an RF tag does not overlap the first antenna in at least a portion, the reader/writer 2 reading, via the first and second antennas, from an RF tag 7 added to an article 6, article information stored in said tag; and a management device 3 that manages the article information of the RF tag read by the reader/writer. The management device determines movement of the article to which the RF tag is attached between the first prescribed region and the second prescribed region on the basis of changes in the reading state of the first and second antennas for each RF tag read by the reader/writer.
