Abstract:
In order to provide an artificial leather composed of a polymer elastic body and a fiber entangled body including, as a constituent element, a non-woven fabric that is formed from ultra-fine fibers so as to include a large number of inorganic particles (particularly a metal compound), the artificial leather having strength (particularly tensile strength/tear strength), quality, and a compact texture, this artificial leather comprises a polymer elastic body and a fiber entangled body including, as a constituent element, a non-woven fabric formed from ultra-fine fibers having an average single-fiber diameter of 1.0-10.0 μm, inclusive, the artificial leather satisfying the following requirements. (1) The ultra-fine fibers are composed of a polyester resin containing a manganese compound. (2) The average particle diameter of the manganese compound is 0.01-0.20 μm, inclusive. (3) The ultra-fine fibers contain 0.1-50.0 ppm, inclusive, of elemental manganese in 100 mass% of the ultra-fine fibers.
