Abstract:
 Provided is novel artificial mimic miRNA utilizing miRNA. Single-stranded nucleic acid in which an X region and a Y region bind, the X region being a mature miRNA guide strand sequence or a partial sequence thereof and comprising a binding side region (XB) for binding to the Y region and a non-binding side region (XF), the binding side region (XB) being a sequence that does not undergo intramolecular annealing within this region, the Y region being a sequence that undergoes intramolecular annealing with the non-binding side region (XF) of the X region, is used as artificial mimic miRNA. This artificial mimic miRNA makes it possible to control the expression of a target gene.
