Abstract:
The present invention relates to a window/door assembly having a ventilation function and a horizontal sealing function and, more particularly, to a horizontal-sealing window/door assembly wherein, even when a window is slightly open to enable ventilation with the outside, the window is prevented from opening, thereby implementing crime-prevention and security functions, and the assembly has an easy opening performance. The present invention provides a window/door assembly having a ventilation function and a horizontal sealing function, the assembly comprising: a window frame; a windowsill on which the window frame is installed to be able to slide; a handle rotatably installed on the window frame; an engaging portion provided on a side surface of the window frame so as to move in the upward/downward direction while interworking with movements of the handle; an engagement guide portion provided on the windowsill in a relative position in which same faces the engaging portion such that the engagement portion engages therewith or does not engage therewith depending on the position of the engaging portion; and a horizontally moving device provided on at least one of the upper and lower surfaces of the window frame so as to interwork with the handle such that, according to movements of the handle, the window frame is horizontally forced against the windowsill or is horizontally released therefrom. The engagement guide portion comprises a first engaging area positioned in the upper portion thereof, a second engaging area spaced apart from the first engaging area and positioned below the first engaging area, and a distancing space portion provided between the first and second engaging areas. The vertical center line of the first engaging area and the vertical center line of the second engaging area are disposed so as to deviate from each other such that, when the engaging portion is positioned in the first or second engaging area, the window frame is guided to be horizontally forced against the windowsill or is horizontally released therefrom and, when the engaging portion is positioned in the distancing space portion, the window frame can slide with regard to the windowsill.
