Abstract:
An assistance device gives notice of the occurrence of an event by stimulating the sense of smell of a user, and is provided with a release unit which is able to release a specific aromatic substance from a housing unit group in which at least two types of aromatic substances having different aroma components are separately housed, and a control unit which, when information relating to the event is input, determines the contents of the event on the basis of the input information, and causes the release unit to release an aromatic substance determined according to the result of the determination.
