Abstract:
This opening/closing assistance device is provided with: a cam affixed at the vicinity of the fulcrum of an opening/closing body with respect to the opening/closing body and a first member that is one of the subjects of attachment by the opening/closing body; a contact that can slidingly move in a direction intersecting the rotational central axis line of the opening/closing body and is provided to the opening/closing body and a second member that is another vehicle body; and a damper stay. The damper stay has: a first end rotatably connected to the first member; and a second end rotatably connected to the contact. The contact is maintained in the state of being pressed against the cam by means of the elastic force of the damper stay. The cam shape is set in a manner so that the moment arising at the cam on the basis of the elastic force of the damper stay imparted via the contact arises in a manner so as to cause the moment necessary to rotate the opening/closing body to be in accordance with the desired operation characteristics of the opening/closing body.
