Abstract:
This assistance device assists an assistance recipient in making a standing-up motion from a seated posture to a standing-up posture. The assistance device is provided with: a base; a motion member that can perform motion at least in the vertical direction with respect to the base; a support member that is provided to the motion member and that supports the upper body of the assistance recipient from the front side or the lower side; knee pad members which are provided to the base and with which the knees of the assistance recipient comes into contact; and a position adjustment part that is configured to be able to adjust a horizontal separation distance between the support member and the knee pad members such that the support member is disposed at a position to which the upper body of the assistance recipient can get closer while the knees of the assistance recipient are in contact with the knee pad members, in the seated posture which includes both sacral sitting in which the upper body of the assistance recipient is inclined backward and great body pressure is applied to the sacral spine and chiatic sitting in which the upper body of the assistance recipient is generally standing upright and great body pressure is applied to the ischial bone.
