Abstract:
Supporting members, that is, a side frame portion and a front arm portion, are held in such a way as to be capable of swinging in a vertical direction about a linking portion, relative to a base member disposed in the vicinity of a sitting-type toilet, for example. A supporting arm portion of the front arm portion extends in a horizontal direction in a usage position, and is positioned on a front surface portion of the upper body of a person being assisted, who is sitting on a seat portion, to prevent the person being assisted from falling forward. A swing angle changing mechanism makes it possible to adjust a front downward angle of the supporting members, that is, the side frame portion, in particular the height of the supporting arm portion.
