Abstract:
The present invention relates to: an atranorin biosynthesis gene derived from the lichen Stereocaulon alpinum; an Ascochyta rabiei) ATR-11 strain (accession number: KACC83048BP), having the gene introduced thereinto, for producing atranorin; and a method for producing atranorin, using the strain. From the Ascochyta rabiei ATR-11 strain having the atranorin biosynthesis gene introduced thereinto according to the present invention, secondary metabolites derived from lichen, especially atranorin, can be produced. The atranorin produced from the strain can be utilized and industrialized for pharmaceutical compositions, food compositions, food functional foods, feed compositions, and the like.
