Claims:

What is claimed is:

1. The Audio BYBB is an audio player that is comprised of a circuit board, an audio memory, a battery, an audio sound producing device, either one or two speakers, and a controller in the form of a button or switch. The button is slightly recessed into the case or packaging of CD's, DVD's, and other types of multimedia delivery devices. The Audio BYBB sits inactive until the controller is activated by the button being depressed with someone's finger, which then activates the sound producing device thereby creating an audible preview of the contents that are on the disc, an advertisement, or other. Alternately, the controller can be a sliding switch which is connected to a folding front flap, which would activate the sound producing device when the flap is opened.

2. The audio player of claim 1 wherein said device is fixed to the inside of the case or packaging of the CD, DVD, or other type of multimedia device.

3. The audio player of claim 1 wherein said device has a controller in the form of a button which is fixed to the inside of the case or packaging of the CD, DVD, or other type of multimedia device and is slightly depressed into the case or package so as to prevent accidental or unintended activation of said audio player. The controller is activated by pressing the button and is deactivated by releasing the button or allowing the player to finish.

4. The audio player of claim 1 wherein said device has alternately a controller in the form of a sliding switch which is fixed to the inside of the front flap of a case or packaging of a CD, DVD, or other type of multimedia device and is activated by opening the flap, and deactivated by closing it or allowing the player to finish.

5. The audio player of claim 1 wherein said device is designed to play an audio preview of the contents of the CD, DVD, or other type of multimedia device that it is affixed to.

6. The audio player of claim 1 wherein said device can alternately be assembled within a small casing of it's own, and fixed to the outside of the case or packaging of the CD, DVD, or other type of multimedia device, so that it can be reprogrammed and reused by merchants or others.

7. The audio player of claim 1 wherein said device is an electrical audio player controlled by a switch.

Description:

Audio BYBB Description

Field of the Invention

The audio player is programmed to play a musical or verbal preview. The audio player is configured to be directly associated with CD's, DVD's, and other types of multimedia delivery devices. The audio player is activated by a button being depressed with someone's finger or by opening a front flap thereby offering an audio preview of the contents.

Background of the Invention

When a disc such as a music CD is bought, there is usually no type of preview available. One must read the listed songs on the case or packaging to learn what is on the disc. It is the same with other multimedia as well. An audio preview of the contents would make selection much easier for the customer and would possibly increase sales within the entertainment industry.

Summary of the Invention

In order to aid in the understanding of this invention, it can be stated in essential summary that it is directed to an audio player which is actuated by the activation of the controlling switch. The audio player is associated with and provides an audio preview for CD's, DVD's and other multimedia delivery and storage devices. In one configuration it can be affixed to inside of the case or packaging. In another configuration it can be self contained within it's own casing, and affixed to the outer case or packaging of the product it is being affixed to, so that it can be removed upon purchase and kept by the merchant to be reused and/or reprogrammed.

It is thus an advantage and purpose of this invention to associate an audio preview of the contents of the CD, DVD, or other multimedia device that it is attached to. It is activated by pressing down a button and deactivated by releasing it, or it is activated by opening a front cover flap on the packaging of the product it is affixed to, and deactivated by closing the flap. Or it will be deactivated if allowed to finish playing.

It is then another advantage and purpose of this invention to directly couple an audio player with the cases and/or packaging of CD's, DVD's and other types of multimedia delivery devices, with the inventions intent being to provide an audible preview of the contents.

It is a further advantage and purpose of this invention to provide an audio player which can also be self contained and thereby attached to the outside of the cases and/or packaging of CD's, DVD's, and other types of multimedia. It can then provide a preview of the contents, yet be removed by the merchant at the time of sale to be reused and/or conveniently reprogrammed.

The features of this invention which is believed to be novel are set forth with particularity to the claims.

Brief Description of Drawings

Fig. 1 is a front view of the Audio BYBB audio player actuated by pressing the button, shown installed into a see thru CD case or package, so as to be able to view the interior components.

Fig. 2 is a front view of the Audio BYBB audio player actuated by opening the CD package's front cover flap, shown installed into a see thru CD case or package, so as to be able to view the interior components.

Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the Audio BYBB audio player when assembled within it's own casing to be affixed to the outside case or packaging of a CD or other. This is but one possible casing design.

Fig. 4 is the same perspective view as Fig.3, except with a see thru casing so as to be able to view the interior components.

Description of Preferred Embodiments

The first preferred embodiment of this invention is generally indicated in Figs. 1 and 2. The Audio BYBB audio player and associated components 1, 2, and 3 are installed into the inside cover of the case or packaging 5 of a CD, DVD, or other 4.

The Audio BYBB audio player Fig. 1 contains various electrical devices, including a battery, an audio memory, and an audio generator 2, either one or two speakers 3, which are actuated by a switch 1. The audio player stays at rest until the actuating switch which is a slightly recessed button 1 is activated by depressing it thereby playing a preview of the packages contents. The audio player is deactivated by releasing the button I, or allowing the player to finish.

An alternate method of actuation Fig. 2 is to use a sliding switch 6 which is connected to an opening front flap which is a part of the package. When the flap is opened the switch activates the audio player. The audio player is deactivated when the flap is closed or the player is allowed to finish.

The audio player Figs. 1 and 2 components 1, 2, and 3 will be essentially flat, with one surface being free to be glued to the inside wall of that which it is attached. As mentioned before, when using the button switch 1, it will be slightly recessed into the case or package cover 5 to prevent unintended play.

Another preferred embodiment of this invention is shown in Figs. 3 and 4. The Audio BYBB audio player and associated components 1, 2, and 3 are installed into it's own casing 8. This configuration uses all the previously stated components and provides the same benefits found with an installed unit, along with the added benefits of making it portable, reusable, reprogrammable, rechargeable, and able to be affixed to the outer case or packaging of CD's, DVD's, and other multimedia, and thereby able to be removed at the time of purchase by the merchant.

In either embodiment Figs. 1, 2, 3, and 4, the switch 1 or 6 activates the audio player core components 2 which sends the audio signals to the speaker or speakers 3.
