Abstract:
Provided are an authentication authorization method and apparatus. The method may comprise: a session management network element receiving a session establishment request message from a terminal device, wherein the session establishment request message is used for requesting to establish a session with a data network; the session management network element determining whether there is an authentication result of the data network for the terminal device; and when the session management network element determines that there is an authentication result, the session management network element not initiating a secondary authentication process on the session, namely, skipping the secondary authentication process. In the present application, a session management network element can determine to skip a secondary authentication process according to the fact that a data network has already authenticated a terminal device, such that the session management network element can be suitable for more scenarios, the signaling overhead caused by repeated executions of secondary authentication is reduced, and the solution is simple and is easily implemented.
