Abstract:
An authentication device (2) wherein a control unit (10) executes a log-in if a user name and a password are input via an operation unit (15) and the input password matches one of a plurality of fixed passwords stored in advance in an HDD (19) in association with the input user name. If the input password does not match any of the plurality of fixed passwords and any of the plurality of fixed passwords satisfies a predetermined condition for similarity to the input password, the control unit prohibits, for a predetermined period, the execution of authentication using the fixed password that satisfies the predetermined condition.
