Provided is an authentication device comprising: a determination unit (118) for determining the position of a portion of a user's body for authentication of the user on the basis of the distribution information of feature points included in a pattern that appears in the portion of the body; a guidance unit (120) for guiding the portion of the body for authentication of the user on the basis of the determined position so that the portion of the body is at the position, and an authentication unit (122) for authenticating the user on the basis of the feature information of the pattern obtained by the guidance.
