Abstract:
Provided is an authentication device for a motorcycle whereby it is possible to immediately notify a user that a mobile wireless terminal has been misplaced. The authentication device for a motorcycle includes: a portable wireless terminal (50) for transmitting authentication information for a motorcycle (1); a communication control unit (35) that receives the authentication information and performs authentication; a vehicle control unit (31) that allows the motorcycle (1) to be started when authenticated by the communication control unit (35); and an external control unit (33) that controls an electrical component of the motorcycle (1). The motorcycle (1) is provided with an accommodation section (20) for accommodating the portable wireless terminal (50), and the external control unit (33) opens the lid (5) of the accommodation section (20) when it is determined that the motorcycle (1) is stopped. The accommodation section (20) is provided to a leg shield (7) disposed in the vicinity of a foot rest (13) in the motorcycle (1).
