Abstract:
This authentication method is an authentication method in an autonomous driving system that includes a vehicle and an external device for communicating with the vehicle and providing a function for causing the vehicle to perform autonomous driving. The vehicle holds a first certificate to authenticate the vehicle, and the external device holds a second certificate to authenticate of the external device. The authentication method comprises a step for validating a third certificate to authenticate the combination of the vehicle and the external device, on the basis of apparatus authentication results of the vehicle and the external device, using the first certificate and the second certificate (S1201 to S1203).
