Abstract:
The present invention relates to an authentication method and system for gate access, the method comprising the steps in which: a gate device transmits a beacon to a user terminal that has entered a certain area; the gate device captures a face image of a user of the user terminal, performs primary authentication by comparing the face image with a plurality of pre-stored face images, and transmits the result of the primary authentication to an authentication server; if the authentication server determines that the user is a previously registered user according to the result of the primary authentication, the authentication server requests the user terminal for information for secondary authentication; the user terminal captures images of a gesture input by the user according to the request of the authentication server; the authentication server receives the images and performs secondary authentication by comparing the images with previously registered gesture images of the user; the authentication server performs tertiary authentication by looking up access restriction information about the user, and transmits the result of the tertiary authentication to the user terminal; the user terminal checks the location of a specific gate, to which access has been granted according to the result of the tertiary authentication, among a plurality of gates; and the user terminal transmits a control signal to a gate device provided in the specific gate.
