Title:
AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/126642
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is an authentication protocol capable of reducing operation costs on the device side having poor computer resources while ensuring safety. A prover and a verifier share shared information including a secret key. The verifier sends a challenge message to the prover. The prover who received the challenge message executes a first process and creates a response by employing the received message and the shared information, and sends the response to the verifier. The verifier who received the response executes a second process, which involves a greater computation amount than the first process, and evaluates the response by employing the received response and the shared information, and determines whether or not to accept the response.
