Abstract:

A first authentication module in one example of the present disclosure obtains first authentication data in which first authentication information generated on the basis of first identification information unique to the first authentication module and second identification information unique to a second authentication module is associated with second authentication information generated on the basis of the first authentication information, the first identification information, and the second identification information. The second authentication module obtains second authentication data which has the same composition as does the first authentication data. The first authentication module transmits the first authentication information to the second authentication module, generates third authentication information as reference information, compares response information with the reference information when response information (third authentication information or encrypted third authentication information) is received from the second authentication module, executes authentication based on a comparison between the response information and the reference information or a comparison between the decrypted response information and the reference information, and determines whether or not to continue a communication session with the second authentication module on the basis of the results of said authentication.
