Disclosed are an automatic adhesive applying system for a curtain wall and an operation method of the automatic adhesive applying system. The system comprises: a working platform for bearing a curtain wall assembly, a robot apparatus with a manipulator, and an adhesive applying apparatus, a laser positioning system and a structural adhesive depth detection system which are mounted on the manipulator; the robot apparatus is configured to drive the adhesive applying apparatus, the laser positioning system and the structural adhesive depth detection system to move by means of the manipulator; the laser positioning system is configured to locate an adhesive applying starting point; the adhesive applying apparatus is configured to apply an adhesive to the curtain wall assembly with the adhesive applying starting point as a starting point; and the structural adhesive depth detection system is configured to detect and control an adhesive applying depth. According to the present invention, a robot is used for automatic adhesive applying, so as to improve the adhesive applying quality and efficiency, and reduce labor costs and loss of the adhesive.
