Abstract:
A device that performs automatic stopping of an internal combustion engine when a prescribed automatic stopping precondition is fulfilled during operation of the internal combustion engine, and that restarts the internal combustion engine when a prescribed restarting precondition is fulfilled during the period when the internal combustion has been automatically stopped, wherein, in accordance with the initially detected crank angle after the restarting operation has begun, a restarting control means (22) determines whether an initial asynchronous fuel injection for a cylinder in the intake stroke can be performed, and determines the next cylinder to be injected with fuel and the fuel injection timing for that cylinder, thereby controlling the fuel injection when the restarting operation begins.
