Abstract:
In the present invention, a person's head is safely and reliably positioned at an appropriate location inside a bowl of an automatic head-care system. Having been inserted into the bowl (101), the head (10) is supported and contained by a head support unit, and a plurality of probes (109) provided on each arm (114L, 114R) then perform head care as the arms (114L, 114R) both swing in the front/back direction of the head (10) and rotate towards or away from the head (10). The swing angle of at least one of a pair of arms (114L, 114R) that swing in the front/back direction of the person's head (10) is set to a horizontal position, aligning said arm (114L, 114R) along a substantially horizontal direction. Then, when the pressure applied to a probe (109) provided on the substantially horizontal arm (114L, 114R) reaches a first pressure (P1), as detected by a pressure sensor, the head (10) is ascertained to have been inserted into the bowl (101).
