Abstract:
This invention relates to a synergistic and novel methodology of automatically cleaning toilet pots, which are preferably wall mounted toilet pots, either of WC type or Anglo-Indian type, but preferably of WC type. This automatic retractable self- cleaning assembly is based on a new retraction system and cleaning mechanism. More particularly, this invention pertains to the fluidic cleaning of the toilet pots, and its movement, in and out of the cabinet that encloses this assembly. The synergistic operations of the assembly, which is automatic, offers a complete, effective and efficient solution to all problems associated with toilet pots. Due to the fundamental nature of this automatic retractable self-cleaning assembly, it can be suitably modified to clean various other objects, which include, without limitation, engines, gear boxes, etc., based on the same mechanism as is used for cleaning toilet pots.

CLAIMS

I/We claim:

1. An automatic retractable type self-cleaning apparatus/toilet assembly for conventional wall mounted-hung toilet pot seats, comprising of:

a cabinet, which encloses all the other components of the toilet assembly; any conventional wall mounted toilet pot, of size upto a maximum of 400mm width and 585mm depth and 380 mm height, looking from the front, mounted on a sliding strolley;

a sliding strolley, mounted on rollers, as described herein, which moves the mounted toilet pot in and out of the cabinet on track rails;

atleast one proximity sensor, installed on the front of the cabinet, which senses the presence/absence of a user within a pre-determined (and programmable) area from the cabinet;

a micro-controller based central processing unit, which controls the entire function of the unit, including monitoring and analyzing the level of usage and the cleaning required;

automated vertically sliding gates, operationally connected to a central shaft by way of two pulley-belt arrangement/ arrangements, which allow the toilet pot to come out, and retract into, the cabinet;

a seat lifter mechanism, as disclosed herein, operationally connected to a central shaft by way of a two pulley-belt arrangement, which controls the movement of the seat lid during inward and outward movement of the strolley mounted toilet pot;

a brush-brushlet cleaning mechanism, operationally connected to the strolley mounted toilet pot by means of an actuation lever that is connected to a vertical shaft, for cleaning the toilet bowl and toilet seat, as disclosed herein; a panoramic ring side pipe network having multiple twin injectors, which are operationally positioned, directed and coordinated with the seat-lifting mechanism and brush mechanism, such that fluids are simultaneously sprayed on both the seat bowl and seat lid, in the manner disclosed herein;

atleast three pumps connected to the panoramic ringside pipe network for supplying fluids such as acidic material, alkaline material and water, in a predetermined ratio, sequence and quantity for the purpose of cleaning;

atleast one compressor for injecting air and other suitable deodorizers for effective cleaning and drying of the toilet pot;

proper outlets at the rear end of the cabinet for flush, a faucet and a sewage discharge pipe;

a flexible sewage discharge pipe connected to the toilet pot;

a macerator installed on the drain exit of the toilet pot, used to crush and pump the waste material to the desired place;

with, or without, any or all of the following components on the top surface of the cabinet:

a conventional/commercially available wash basin;

a conventional/commercially available tap;

a vanity section; and/or

a mirror.

An automatic retractable type self-cleaning toilet assembly, as claimed in claim 1 , wherein, the conventional wall mounted toilet pot can be of the WC type wall mounted toilet pot, as well as the Anglo-Indian type, with suitable modifications, of size upto a maximum of 400mm width and 585mm depth and 380 mm height.

An automatic retractable type self-cleaning assembly, as claimed in claim 1, wherein, the conventional wall mounted toilet pot is fastened onto the vertical and/or horizontal bars of the strolley by means of suitable fastening means such as grouting bolts.

10. An automatic retractable type self-cleaning toilet assembly, as claimed in claim 1, wherein, the brush used is preferably a mirror image pattern of the internal contour and top surface of the toilet pot so as to achieve maximum area coverage and maximum cleaning effect.

1 1. An automatic retractable type self-cleaning toilet assembly, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the horizontal plate brush is provided with brushlets towards each end of the brush for rubbing and cleaning the toilet seat more effectively.

12. An automatic retractable type self-cleaning toilet assembly, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the multiple pipes in the panoramic ring side pipe network are fixed at equal distances, along the length of the pot, to suitably cover all the paraphernalia of the toilet pot.

An automatic retractable type self-cleaning toilet assembly, as claimed in claim 1, wherein, when the sensor, mounted on the front of the cabinet, senses the users movement, the central processing unit initiates the lifter motor to effect the simultaneous lifting of the vertically sliding gates and the lowering of the toilet seat onto the toilet bowl, in the manner described herein.

An automatic retractable type self-cleaning toilet assembly, as claimed in claim 1, wherein, once the gates are open, and the seat is lowered, the central processing unit initiates the geared motor, connected to the additional rack, to move the strolley mounted toilet pot on the track rails out of the cabinet, which movement, in turn, strikes the actuated lever connected to the brush mechanism, which lifts the entire brush mechanism into a horizontal "idle" position, in the manner described herein.

An automatic retractable type self-cleaning toilet assembly, as claimed in claim 1, in which, all operationally connected movements, such as of the seat-lifter mechanism-cum-vertically sliding gates, and of the strolley mechanism-cum- brush mechanism, are reversed when the proximity sensor signals to the central processing unit that the user has left the pre-determined area around the proximity sensors, in the manner described herein. ·

16. An automatic retractable type self-cleaning toilet assembly, as claimed in claim 1, wherein, once the toilet pot reaches the "ready-to-be-cleaned" stage, as disclosed herein, the central processing unit gives a signal to activate the flush.

17. An automatic retractable type self-cleaning toilet assembly, as claimed in claim 1, wherein, a cleaning motor rotates the brush-brushlet mechanism about, and around its axis, around the toilet pot, while the pipe network sprays the fluids and water.

An automatic retractable type self-cleaning toilet assembly, as claimed in claim 1, wherein, the brush-brushlet mechanism can also be moved along its transverse and longitudinal axis for proper contour cleaning of the toilet bowl and toilet seat. 19. An automatic retractable type self-cleaning assembly, as claimed in claim 1, wherein, atleast one compressor is signalled by the central processing unit to pump air immediately after the cleaning cycle is completed.

20. An automatic retractable type self-cleaning assembly, as claimed in claim 1, wherein, the central processing unit can be suitably programmed to draw-in atleast one wiper blade, installed on the base fork jaw, to clean the floor and enable proper drainage.

21. An automatic retractable type self-cleaning assembly, as claimed in claim 1, wherein, the central processing unit can be suitably programmed to continuously monitor and analyze the level of usage and the cleaning required in the next cycle, based on which, the central processing unit can determine the water consumption, fluid consumption, retraction & extrusion cycle time, cleaning cycle time and other functional aspects.

22. An automatic retractable type self-cleaning assembly, as claimed in claim 1, wherein, a wash basin is mounted on top of the cabinet, along with a vanity section and a mirror base in order to ensure maximum utilization of space. 23. An automatic retractable type self-cleaning assembly, as claimed in claim 1, which can be can be widely applied in industry, both domestically and in public places.

24. An automatic retractable type self-cleaning assembly, as claimed in claim 1, which, due to its fundamental nature, can be suitably modified to clean various other objects, which include, without limitation, engines, gear boxes, etc., based on the same mechanism and methodology as is used for cleaning toilet pots, as disclosed herein. 25. An automatic retractable type self-cleaning assembly, as claimed in claim 1, which, due to its fundamental nature, can be suitably modified to clean a floor- mounted WC bowl, having "S" trap drainage.

26. An automatic retractable type self-cleaning assembly, as claimed in claim 1, which allows the user to install its pre-existing wall mounted toilet pot or any other conventional/commercially available toilet bowl and toilet seat.

27. An automatic retractable type self-cleaning assembly, as claimed in claim 1, having various advantages such as being compact, easy to fix, efficient and relocatable.

Description:
TITLE OF THE INVENTION

Automatic retractable self-cleaning assembly for conventional toilet pots.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates to a synergistic and novel methodology of automatically cleaning toilet pots, which are preferably wall mounted toilet pots. This automatic retractable self-cleaning assembly is based on a new retraction system and cleaning mechanism. More particularly, this invention pertains to the fluidic cleaning of the toilet pots, and its movement, in and out of the cabinet that encloses this assembly. The synergistic operations of the assembly, which is automatic, offers a complete, effective and efficient solution to all problems associated with toilet pots like cleanliness, hygiene, visibility & odour. Due to the fundamental nature of this automatic retractable self-cleaning assembly, it can be suitably modified to clean various other objects, which include, without limitation, engines, gear boxes, etc., based on the same mechanism as is used for cleaning toilet pots.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Throughout the world, there have been many proposals to clean toilet pots. Many attempts have been made at addressing the issues related to toilet pots.

As far back as 1937, U.S. Patent No.2,076,950, sought to provide a toilet pot retraction mechanism, in which the toilet pot would recede into the recess by way of pivotal movement about a predetermined axis. This way, the toilet seat would be completely concealed from view. However, this assembly did not provide for any cleaning mechanism for the toilet pots. In U.S. Patent No.3, 815,158, only a toilet seat retraction mechanism is provided, which is based on an axial mechanism. This prior art also discloses a cleaning mechanism, using nozzles to inject fluids and air, to clean the seat lid only. However, this assembly does not disclose the use of a brush mechanism, for effective cleaning. Since only the toilet seat is retracted in this patent, the toilet bowl is always visible.

U.S. Patent No.4,785,482 also discloses only a toilet seat retraction mechanism, in which the toilet seat is brought into a vertical position in a tank by a translational movement of transport means driven by vertical endless screws. Once inside the tank, this patent also discloses a nozzle-based cleaning mechanism to clean the seat lid only. Again, in this patent, a complete solution to all the problems associated with toilet pots is not provided. The toilet bowl, at all times, remains visible. In U.S. Patent No.4,790,036, a cleaning system is provided to clean the toilet seat by way of a rotational mechanism on the toilet bowl itself. In this patent, there is no retraction of either the toilet seat or the toilet bowl. Furthermore, the cleaning system needs to be operated manually. U.S. Patent No.4,797,959 discloses a sanitary unit having an automatic cleansing cycle, in which, a specially designed toilet bowl rs mounted for rotation between a utilization position, in which it projects horizontally from the partition in a usage zone, and a cleaning position in which, it is tipped vertically up into an opening in the partition, so as to empty it into the maintenance zone. This patent, however, is very difficult to install on account of the complex retraction mechanism involved. For the same reason, commercially available toilet pots cannot be used/installed in this assembly. It also does not provide for a brush-based mechanism for cleaning the toilet pot. Thus, again, a complete solution to problems associated with toilet cleaning/hygiene is not provided. U.S. Patent No.4,853,982 discloses a toilet apparatus, which has two (2) seai lids, out of which, one (1 ) seat lid is placed on the toilet bowl, whereas, a clean lid is placed in a chamber perpendicular to the toilet bowl. In this patent, when the used-seat lid retracts into a chamber for cleaning, the second clean seat lid comes out and gets placed on the toilet bowl for use. The seat-lid retraction mechanism used comprises of two (2) endless chains driven by an electric motor, which are guided into the chamber by means of rails. As can be clearly seen, this assembly does not provide a wholesome solution to the problems associated with toilet pots. U.S. Patent No.4,944,047 discloses a manually operated rotational-based retraction mechanism for retracting a specially designed toilet pot as a whole. However, this patent does not disclose any cleaning mechanism for the toilet pot.

In U.S. Patent No.5,022, 097, a rotational mechanism for seat lid retraction and brush- based cleaning mechanism is provided. This patent, however, does not disclose a means for retraction of the toilet bowl or the cleaning of the toilet bowl. Thus, a complete solution to the problem with toilet pots is not provided in this patent.

In U.S. Patent No.5,647,074, a public toilet facility is disclosed. In this patent, the specially designed toilet pot lowers/retracts from a vertical position inside a cavity to a horizontal position for use. Since this toilet facility is only for use at public places, this facility has a structure/cabinet, which is semi-circular is nature, but which is converted into a circular enclosure when it is being used. For cleaning the toilet pot, this patent discloses the use of nozzles only. This patent, however, as the name itself suggests, does not provide an effective and holistic solution to the needs of domestic toilet pots primarily due to the size of this toilet facility, and its cleaning mechanism.

U.S. Patent No.5, 898,955 merely discloses a toilet pot linear-retraction mechanism, which is based on a very simple and ancient mechanism of coupling rollers on to the device to be moved, which in this case, is toilet pot itself. This patent, however, does not disclose any cleaning mechanism at all. Due to this fundamental disadvantage, this patent fails to provide a complete solution to problems associated with toilet pots. This patent also suffers from various problems in its design, such as blockage in the discharge pipe, because of which, it is not suitable for use.

In U.S. Patent No.5,960,483, a swivel-mechanism based retraction mechanism is disclosed for the retraction of a custom-designed toilet pot. This patent discloses only a nozzle-based cleaning mechanism for cleaning the toilet pot. Due to the complex mechanism involved in the patent, not only is it difficult to install, but it cannot be used with commercially available toilet pots.

U.S. Patent No.6,289,526 discloses an automatic customised toilet seat cleaning mechanism, in which, the toilet seat is turned/swivelled at its place on the toilet bowl itself and cleaned. Therefore, this patent does not disclose any mechanism for retraction of the toilet pot, which in turn means that the toilet seat is always visible to the user.

U.S. Patent No.7,171,700 discloses a automatic toilet seat cleaning assembly, in which only the toilet seat is retracted into a cabinet by means of titling mechanism or a sliding seat mechanism. Inside the cabinet, the toilet seat is cleaned by means of a nozzle-mechanism. In this assembly, again no mechanism is provided for retraction of the entire toilet pot for effective and wholesome cleaning.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE INVENTION

The fundamental objective of this invention is to disclose an automatic retractable type self-cleaning apparatus for cleaning conventional wall mounted toilet pots, which provides a holistic solution to all problems associated with toilet pots, in a synergistic, efficient and economical manner. Another objective of this invention is to disclose a retraction mechanism, in which the conventional wall mounted toilet pot is positioned on a uniquely designed strolley structure, mounted on suitably placed rollers, that can withstand load upto one thousand (1,000) kilograms / 2200 pounds , and such strolley structure is moved in and out of the cabinet on track rails.

Another objective of this invention is to disclose a cleansing system, which consists of a combination of nozzle and brush mechanism, which are suitably positioned in the cabinet, for effective and complete cleaning of both the toilet seat and toilet bowl.

In addition, it is an objective of this invention to disclose a cleansing system, in which the seat lid is operationally lifted by means of an automated seat-lifting mechanism for thorough cleaning of the toilet seat and toilet bowl.

Yet another objective of this invention is to disclose a retraction mechanism, which is so inextricably linked with the cleaning mechanism, that the same provide an operationally sound and effective solution to all toilet pot-related issues. A further objective of this invention is to disclose a retraction mechanism and cleaning mechanism, which operate automatically in a synergistic manner, once they are initiated by means of sensors.

Yet another objective of this invention is to disclose a "touch free toilet"

It is yet another objective of this invention to disclose an automatic retractable type self-cleaning apparatus, in which, the sliding doors and the cabinet that houses the assembly disclosed herein, is operationally connected with the seat-lifting mechanism, such that their movements are complimentary in nature, which results in seamless movement and cleaning of the toilet bowl and toilet seat, or any other object that is sought to be cleaned.

It is yet another objective of this invention to disclose an automatic retractable type self-cleaning apparatus, in which, the brush mechanism of the assembly is operationally connected with the retraction mechanism, such that their movements are complimentary in nature, which results in synchronized movement and cleaning of the toilet bowl and toilet seat, or any other object that is sought to be cleaned. It is another objective of this invention to disclose an automatic retractable type self- cleaning apparatus, which is regulated, controlled and monitored by a microcontroller based central processing unit, which is responsible for the entire synergistic functioning of the unit, and which can be suitably programmed. Another objective of this invention is to disclose a toilet cleaning apparatus, which apart from addressing the problems associated with toilet pots, allows the user to use its pre-existing wall mounted toilet pot or any other conventional/commercially available toilet bowl and toilet seat with this toilet apparatus. Yet another objective of this invention is to disclose a toilet apparatus, in which a wash basin can be suitably placed on the top of the cabinet housing the toilet apparatus, thereby fundamentally reducing their footprint in a washroom.

Another objective of this invention is to disclose a complete solution toilet apparatus, which can be suitably installed in domestic places as well as public places.

Due to the fundamental nature of this automatic retractable self-cleaning assembly, another objective of this invention is to disclose an automatic retractable self-cleaning assembly, which can be suitably modified to clean various other objects, which include, without limitation, engines, gear boxes, etc., based on the same mechanism as is used for cleaning toilet pots.

Another objective of this invention is to disclose an automatic retractable self- cleaning toilet assembly that can be suitably modified to even clean a floor-mounted WC bowl, having an "S" trap drainage.

The solution provided in this invention would fundamentally change the method of cleaning the toilet pots, or any other object that is sought to be cleaned. Specifically with respect to toilet pots, it will solve the following issues:

1. Human stature upliftment - Since the toilet pot is cleaned/operated automatically, the assembly disclosed would replace the need for physical labour for cleaning/operating the same

2. Sanitation Environment - Since the toilet seat is always hidden, except when in-use, the environment of the user will become free of foul smell and filthy views.

3. Odour - The cleaning mechanism will fundamentally remove and alienate the bad odour associated with toilets.

4. Infection & diseases - The toilets are continuously dis-infected and sanitized after every wash cycle. This ability prevents, to the farthest extent, the highest possibility of disease transmission and infections reaching the user.

5. Usage comfort & confidence - The design of the toilets enable to bring about a revolution in toilet pot technologies for the comfort and convenience that it would eventually bring. Hence the user would be much more confident, and dump their resistance in using these toilets, even at public places, thereby giving rise to proper facility utilization.

6. Convenience - Since the toilet apparatus is a general purpose toilet cleaner, no specially designed pots are required. This enables the user to select the choice of their toilet pots, and fit them into the machine, without the worry of cleaning efficiency and without the user being bound by any customized toilet pots. Additional objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent to those skilled in the art.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DIAGRAMS

In the drawings, like elements are assigned like reference numerals. The drawings are not necessarily to scale, with the emphasis instead placed upon the principles of this invention. Additionally, each of the embodiments depicted, are but one of a number of possible arrangements, utilizing the fundamental concepts/platforms of this invention. All such embodiments of these arrangements are considered to be within the scope of this invention. Further characteristics and the advantages of the toilet assembly will be made clearer with the following description of an exemplary embodiment thereof, exemplifying, but not limiting, with reference to the attached drawings. Figure 1 depicts a perspective view of the preferred embodiment of the invention.

Figure 2 depicts a perspective view of the strolley mounted WC toilet pot retraction mechanism in the cabinet.

Figure 3 depicts a stand-alone perspective view of the seat-lifter mechanism and its installation. Figure 4 depicts a stand-alone perspective view of the strolley mounted toilet retraction mechanism.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The toilet assembly disclosed in this invention is housed in a cabinet [1]. This cabinet is made of mild steel (MS) material. The dimensions of this cabinet are in the range of 900mm x 650mm x 900mm to about 1000mm x 750mm x 900mm, and is preferably of the dimensions of 950mm x 700mm x 900mm. The cabinet is covered by a panel [2] of thickness around 8mm to 12mm, and is preferably 10 mm. This panel is further cladded with a coat of SS316 sheet [3], which has a thickness of around 1 .3mm to 1.7mm, and is preferably 1.5 mm. These panels are inserted on the left, right, rear and top of the cabinet and can be made to slide over for removing whenever required. Leveling screws [4] are provided on the base of the cabinet to make the unit parallel to the ground and maintain its orientation. Similar wall-fixing arrangements [5] are also provided so that the cabinet can be rigidly fixed to the wall.

The front side of the cabinet [7] are provided with vertically sliding gates [6], which are suitably the "lock-and-open-the-other-up" type, of the size 600mm x 400mm opening. A micro-controller based central processing unit [56] is installed on the rear side of the cabinet [8], which controls the entire function of the unit, including monitoring and analyzing the level of usage and the cleaning required, so that suitable changes can be programmed. The operation of the toilet assembly, in terms of cleaning time, water consumption, cleaning fluid injection, etc., can be suitably programmed and controlled by the user with the help of a small display console. This unit can be managed from the anterior end by the user. Wiring harness from the motors, pumps, compressor, sensors, etc., are connected to this central processing unit.

On the front side of the cabinet, atleast one proximity sensor [57] is also installed. This proximity sensor senses the presence/absence of a user within a pre-determined (and programmable) area from the cabinet.

The cabinet is provided with proper outlets at the rear panel for the flush [9], faucet [ 10] and sewage discharge pipes [ 1 1 ], as per the prevalent civil engineering norms. On the top surface of this cabinet [13], there is a provision to optionally install any conventional/commercially available wash basin [12], for which a customized cut slot can be provided. There is also a provision for any conventional/commercially available tap [14] and a drainage pipe on this top surface of the cabinet. Optionally, a vanity section [15] is also provided on the top surface of the cabinet, which can be customized and be provided with a number of slots for keeping toiletries. Optionally, a mirror [16] is also provided on the top surface of the cabinet, which can be rotated on a hinge [17], i.e., from a horizontal position (initial) to a vertical position (during use).

The cabinet houses a unique MS strolley [19], on which, a conventional/commercially available wall mounted toilet pot [18], having a maximum width of 440mm and maximum height of 400mm is installed. Both the Anglo-Indian type as well as the WC type wall mounted toilet pot can be used. Fundamentally, the use of the WC type toilet pot is preferred, although the Anglo-Indian type mounted toilet pot can be used with suitable modifications to the design. There is a provision for grouting additional two bars horizontally [24] onto the strolley (apart from the two vertical bars) to affix the toilet pot depending upon its dimensions. The toilet pot can be tightened/fastened by grouting bolts, onto the two horizontal & vertical bars, as the case may be. The toilet pot is preferably affixed on the strolley at a standard height between 430mm to 450mm from ground level, i.e., precisely at the height, at which toilet bowls are fitted in conventional toilets. This strolley can accommodate any toilet pot size upto a maximum of 400mm width and 585mm depth and 380 mm height. At the sewage outlet is fixed a macerator, which has a sewage discharge connected at one end, and a flexible discharge pipe at the other end. This sewage pipe, connected to the macerator, is a flexible pipe, with a diameter of around 22mm. This sewage discharge pipe folds and bends while retraction, and expands during the extrusion process, within the rear space. This strolley is mounted on a plurality of suitably positioned rollers [20] of diameter around 64mm. The strolley-roller combination moves in and out of the cabinet on a track rail [21] installed across the length of the cabinet. These track rails are 'T' shaped bars, welded to the cabinet, in a manner such that the 'T' faces in the vertical direction. Towards the lower rung of the cabinet, another load roller [22] of size around 38mm is installed, which runs over the inner rail track [23] of the track rail. This load roller is designed to enable it to take the maximum pay load of the strolley mounted toilet pot of 1 ,000 kg. Near the lower bar of the strolley, a fork jaw [62] is affixed, over which, the toilet pot rests its gravity. This fork jaw also has a wiper blade installed, which helps in cleaning the floor and enabling proper drainage after the toilet pot has been used. The strolley is fitted with reverse rollers to counterbalance the cantilever load acting on the front of the toilet pot.

An additional rack [35], which is also a teeth cut bar, is laid between and parallel to the track rails disclosed above. A geared motor [34], of quarter horse power of rotation between 60 rpm to 80 rpm, but preferably 70 rpm, is coupled to this additional rack, lajd along the length of track rail, using a rack and pinion arrangement, which ensures friction-less movement of the strolley mounted toilet pot. The seat [25] of the conventional toilet pot is detached and affixed on atleast one SS steel strip [26] along its contour and length. These strips are attached to a seat-lifting mechanism [27], as exemplified in the diagram. This seat-lifting mechanism is further connected to a pulley and belt system, which is in turn connected to a central shaft. This central round shaft [29], which is around 20mm to 24mm in diameter, and preferably, 22mm in diameter, is connected transversely, along with rollers [30], across the side support bars of the cabinet, and is also connected to the vertically sliding gates by means of a system of two pulleys and corresponding two belts [31].

Across the side support bars of the cabinet, another vertical shaft is provided. On this vertical shaft [42], a brush [64] is centrally mounted on a horizontal plate [41] on a "U" shaped bracket assembly [51]. This brush is preferably of a mirror image pattern of the internal contour [43] and top surface of the toilet pot [44] so as to achieve maximum area coverage and maximum cleaning effect. The horizontal plate also has brushlets [45] towards the end for further cleaning of the seat surface [46]. The vertical shaft is rotated by a worm [47], which is meshed " to a pinion [48] mounted on the cleaning motor shaft, to form a bevel gear assembly. An actuation lever [49] is mounted on the extreme ends of the vertical shaft. This lever is suitably positioned to strike the engaging rollers [50] mounted onto the strolley so that the entire 'U' bracket assembly can be lifted into a horizontal position when the strolley is moving out of the cabinet. This enables the smooth entry and exit of the brush into the pot on forward and reverse movements.

The cabinet also houses a panoramic ring side pipe network [36], which are suitably positioned to clean the toilet bowl and toilet seat. These pipes have twin injectors [37], as is exemplified by the drawings. These twin injectors are suitably directed to spray water and other fluids on the seat bowl and seat lid respectively and are coordinated with the height to which the seat lid is raised by way of the seat-lifting mechanism. The pipes are fixed at equal distances, along the length of the pot, to suitably cover all the paraphernalia of the toilet pot. The pipes used in this toilet assembly are sealed from both ends. They are connected to atleast two chemical dosing pumps [38] from the two sides, and atleast one water pump [39] from the centre. These dosing pumps have a capacity of around six (6) to twelve (12) litres per hour. The chemical tanks contain acidic (HC1) and alkaline (Domestic grade) fluids amongst other suitable disinfectants. The water pump of half horse power, supplies water in a continuum to the network, while the chemical dosing pumps interject 4% concentration HC1 and 35% concentration alkaline and other cleaning fluids, into the network. A compressor [40], having force of pressure around 3Kg, injects air from the dual nozzles to clean surfaces. Suitable deodorizers may also be provided for to enhance the environment. A flushing arrangement [52] is conveniently provided as per the prevailing civil engineering norms. A macerator (crusher) [53], with a capacity to crush and pump the waste material upto 100m in length and over 20m in height, can be installed at the outlet of the toilet pot. The outlet of the macerator [54] is 22mm. These features of this invention enable it to be fitted in basements with effortless ease, thereby providing congestion-free toilets. A standard commercially available faucet [55] is also fitted for body wash at the appropriate place, as in the given diagram.

All the above components of the toilet assembly are so designed and programmed so that they function in a synergistic manner as disclosed below.

When the automatic retractable type self-cleaning toilet apparatus is not in use, i.e., when it is "idle", the entire toilet assembly remains inside a cabinet, away from the view of the user.

When a user enters the pre-determined area around the proximity sensors, which can be suitably customized by the user, a signal is sent by the sensors attached to the front face of the cabinet to the central processing unit. The central processing unit, in turn, sends a signal to the various components of the toilet assembly to initiate their respective functions.

First a lifter motor [28], which is mounted on the rear side of the cabinet, is signaled to start by the central processing unit. This lifter motor is mounted for lifting the sliding gates and the lowering the toilet seat simultaneously and is preferably of a quarter horse power. This lifter motor rotates a belt, which in turn rotates the shaft connected across the side support bars of the cabinet, as exemplified in the drawings.

As mentioned above, this shaft is connected to four (4) pulleys, two of which are connected to the vertically sliding gates, and the remaining two are connected to the seat-lifting mechanism. When this shaft rotates in the above mentioned manner, the two (2) pulleys and corresponding two (2) belts mechanism, which are connected to the vertically sliding gates, as disclosed above, lift these gates, in the manner exemplified by the drawings.

The remaining two pulleys connected to this shaft, simultaneously rotate the connected belts in a direction opposite to that of the other two (2) pulleys, and wind it up. Since these belts, which are connected to the seat-lifting mechanism [33], are made to wind up in the opposite direction to the belts connected to the gates, they lower the toilet seat onto the toilet bowl.

Hence, on the initiation of the toilet assembly by the sensors and central processing unit, the vertical sliding gates open, and simultaneously, the toilet seat is automatically lowered onto the toilet bowl for its use.

As soon as these actions are complete, the central processing unit signals the geared motor, connected to the additional rack as disclosed above, to start. When this geared motor rotates, the rack being fixed, translates to linear traversal of the strolley mounted toilet pot on the track rails in the forward direction. A limit switch cuts the motion off at the pre-determined "ready-to-use" position.

As the strolley mounted toilet pot moves out of the cabinet, the uniquely designed and positioned lever, which is mounted on the extreme ends of the vertical shaft, as disclosed above, simultaneously strikes the rollers mounted on the strolley so that the entire 'U' bracket assembly, carrying the brush mechanism, can be lifted into a horizontal "idle" position. This enables the smooth exit of the brush out of the pot on forward movement of the strolley mounted toilet pot. Once the toilet pot comes out> of the cabinet, it is "ready-to-use" by the user. This entire process, from initiation to "ready to be used", takes approximately two (2) to four (4) seconds. When the user has used the toilet pot and steps out of the pre-determined area around the proximity sensors, the same sensor on the front face of the cabinet, signals the central processing unit to initiate the retraction of the toilet pot back into the cabinet and to initiate the cleaning mechanism thereafter. During retraction, the same geared motor reverses the linear motion of the strolley mounted toilet pot along the track rails back into the cabinet. A limit switch cuts the motion off at the pre-determined "idle" position.

During retraction, the strolley mounted toilet pot releases the uniquely designed and positioned lever mounted on the extreme ends of the vertical shaft, which in turns lowers the entire 'U' bracket assembly, carrying the brush mechanism, towards the toilet pot.

Once the strolley mounted toilet pot fully retracts into the cabinet, the central processing unit signals the lifter motor which rotates a belt, which in turn rotates the shaft connected across the side support bars of the cabinet, as exemplified in the drawings, in a direction opposite to the direction during outward movement of the toilet pot. When this shaft rotates in the above mentioned manner, the two (2) pulleys and corresponding two (2) belts mechanism, which are connected to the vertically sliding gates, as disclosed above, close these gates, in the manner exemplified by the drawings. The remaining two pulleys connected¾to this shaft, simultaneously rotate the connected two belts in a direction opposite to that of the other two (2) pulleys, and wind it up. Again, since these belts, which are connected to the seat-lifting mechanism, are made to wind up in the opposite direction to the belts connected to the gates, they raise the toilet seat horizontally above the toilet seat to an "idle position" at a pre-determined height. When the seat is lifted to the "idle position", the lifter motor is signalled to switch off and the command for initiating the cleaning motor is given. At this point, the toilet seat and toilet bowl are "ready-to-be-cleaned". From the initiation of the process of retraction till bringing the toilet seat and toilet bowl to the position of "ready-to-be-cleaned" takes approximately two (2) to four (4) seconds to be completed.

Once the toilet pot is "ready-to-be-cleaned", the central processing unit gives a signal to release the active flush. The pot is flushed with around 3.5 litres of water in about three (3) to five (5) seconds.

The initiation of the cleaning motor, results in the motor rotating the brush inside the toilet pot, at around three (3) to four (4) rotations per second, which causes the brushes to wipe and rub in abrasive action the pot contours, which leads to its cleaning. Simultaneously, the brushlets also rub the toilet seat for cleaning. This process goes on for around eleven (1 1) to thirteen (13) seconds. A provision is also made to move the brush along its transverse and longitudinal axis, which enables proper contour cleaning. Simultaneously, as the rotation of the brush is initiated, the central processing unit gives a signal to the chemical dosing pumps and the water pump to flush the pot with fluids from the dual injectors, as disclosed above. The brush, along with acidic material runs for around three (3) to four (4) seconds, then with water for around (2) to (3) seconds, and then with alkaline material for around (2) to (4) seconds, and finally, again with water for around (2) seconds. The quantities and ratios of all fluids that are delivered are pre-detsrmined, and can be suitably programmed.

Immediately, when the water pumps stops, the compressor is signalled to start. This compressor runs air for around (3) to (5) seconds thereafter. A provision can be made to run the air through a heating element for delivering warm air for faster cleaning/evaporation. A provision can also be made for delivering a deodorizer to make the environment more comfortable. This process helps the toilet seat to become dry, and eventually, makes the toilet pot as a whole clean, disinfected and hygienic for the next arriving user.

A provision can also be made such that based on the usage patterns, cleaning efficiency and other operational parameters, the central processing unit, can be programmed for automated variance in water consumption, fluid consumption, retraction & extrusion cycle time, and cleaning cycle time etc.

A provision can again optionally be made such that between consecutive usages of the toilet assembly, the central processing unit can be suitably programmed to draw-in a wiper blade, installed on the base fork jaw. This helps in cleaning the floor and enabling proper drainage.

In this manner, the toilet assembly disclosed herein provides an effective and efficient toilet assembly, which overcomes all problems associated with toilet pots. On account of the superior characteristics of the toilet assembly disclosed in this invention, it can be widely applied in industry, both domestically and in public places.

Due to the fundamental nature of this automatic retractable self-cleaning assembly, disclosed above, it can be suitably modified to clean various other objects, which include, without limitation, engines, gear boxes, etc., based on the same mechanism and methodology as is used for cleaning toilet pots described ¾above. Since it is impossible to list down all the possible areas of industrial application of this automatic retractable self-cleaning assembly, all "applications" of the "platform" provided by this automatic retractable self-cleaning assembly, and which may occur to any person skilled in the art, and desirous of using this assembly, should be considered to be, and will be deemed to be considered, as equivalent to this invention and falling within the scope of this patent.

The automatic retractable self-cleaning assembly, as disclosed above, can also be suitably modified to even clean a floor-mounted WC bowl, having an "S" trap drainage. Such an embodiment, with its suitable modifications, should be deemed to relate to, and fall within the scope of, this patent.

By way of this invention, therefore, the following advantages, amongst others, are achieved with respect to toilet pots: i) It leads to a holistic cleaning of the toilet pot and toilet area.

ϋ) It cleans and disinfects any wall mounted toilet pot.

iii) It uses less water as compared to the assemblies disclosed in prior art.

iv) It is efficient in terms of usage of fluids for cleaning.

v) It hides the toilet pot as a whole when not in use.

vi) It utilizes space, by using the waste area below the basin.

vii) It provides an integrated solution with vanity support.

viii) It is easy to fix.

ix) It can be easily relocated.

x) It is a clog-free cleaning apparatus.

xi) It can be installed up to the second (2 n ) level basement.

xii) There are other miscellaneous design benefits such as its compatibility with the Anglo-Indian toilet seat, its the ability to clean other objects as disclosed above. All percentages, preferred amounts or measurements, ranges and endpoints thereof herein are inclusive. Numbers herein have no more precision than stated. Unless stated otherwise or recognized by those skilled in the art as otherwise impossible, steps of processes described herein are optionally carried out in sequences different from the sequence in which the steps are discussed herein. Furthermore, steps optionally occur separately, simultaneously or with overlap in timing.

Those skilled in the art recognize that acceptable limits vary with equipment, conditions, applications, and other variables, but can be determined without undue experimentation in each situation where they are applicable. In some instances, variation or deviation in one parameter may be acceptable to achieve another desirable end. The foregoing description will so fully reveal the invention according to the conceptual point of view, so that others, by applying current knowledge will be able to modify and/or adapt, for various applications, such an invention without further research and without parting from the invention, and it is therefore to be understood that such adaptations and modifications will have to be considered as equivalent to this invention.

The means and the materials to realise the different functions described herein could have a different nature without, for this reason, departing from the field of the invention. It is to be understood that the phraseology or terminology employed herein is for the purpose of description and not for limitation. It will also be apparent to those skilled in the art that other embodiments, improvements, details and uses can be made consistent with the letter and spirit of the foregoing disclosure and falling within the scope of this patent.
