Abstract:
An embodiment of the present invention relates to an automatic stopping device for a forklift and comprises: a forward/reverse lever of the forklift which is operated by an operator; a forward actuation valve and a reverse actuation valve that are operated by the forward/reverse lever; a transmission provided between an engine and drive wheels to shift gears through the operation of the forward actuation valve or the reverse actuation valve; and a stopping unit for forcibly stopping the forklift according to whether the operator is present. The stopping unit includes: seated operator detecting means for detecting whether an operator is seated in an operator's seat; brake pedal detecting means for detecting whether a brake pedal has been operated; and a controller for receiving signals from the seated operator detecting means and the brake pedal detecting means and controlling the forward actuation valve and the reverse actuation valve.
