Title:
AUTOMATICALLY AND MANUALLY OPERABLE DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1980/000092
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
If a vehicle or the like incorporating window glasses operable by only an electric motor is submerged under water when all the window glasses are completely closed, any of the doors cannot be opened by means of hydraulic pressure under the water, with the dangerous result that the persons in the vehicle cannot escape from the vehicle. Accordingly, a manually-operable mechanism is provided for the safety countermeasure. This mechanism is essentially so constructed that an internal gear (3) is differentially meshed with an external gear (4) through a cam shaft (5) to thereby operate an arm (4a). A rotational force is transmitted from a prime mover (2) to the cam shaft (5), but a rotational force from the cam shaft (5) is not transmitted to the prime mover (2) by the slip of sliding clutches (6, 6b, 7). This invention may be applied to other open-close equipments for security.
