Abstract:
An autonomous convertible cooking device is disclosed, wherein the cooking device comprises a platform (103) with grooves (116) for accommodating a gantry (112) and a pan structure (105). The cooking device also comprises a cylindrical container (104) to store batter. It has a pushing means (106) to discharge the batter atop of the pan (102) for cooking. It comprises a heating pan structure (105) mounted on a platform (103) through the grooves (116) provided on its sides for heating the batter. The cooking device also comprises a gantry (112) with a slider (110) provisioned to deliver three way sliding of the container (104) and the slider (110). The cooking device further comprises a C-shaped arm (108) to carry out the cooked batter as a roll by sliding through the grooves (114) on the platform. It has an input/output device for a user to access the autonomous cooking device, and to enter preferences, type of dish to be prepared, quantity of dish to be cooked based on number of persons or equivalent calories the person(s) wish to take.

Claims

I/We Claim

1. An autonomous convertible cooking device (100), wherein the device (100) comprises:

a platform (103) with grooves (116) for accommodating the gantry (112) and pan structure (105);

a cylindrical container (104) to store the batter;

a pushing means (106) to discharge the batter atop of the pan (102) for cooking; a heating pan structure (105) mounted on a platform (103) through the grooves (116) provided on its sides for heating the batter;

a gantry (112) with a slider (110) provisioned to deliver three way sliding of the container (104) and the slider (110);

a C-shaped arm (108) to carry out the cooked batter as a roll by sliding through the grooves (114) on the platform;

an input/output device for a user to access the autonomous cooking device, and to enter preferences, type of dish to be prepared, quantity of dish to be cooked based on number of persons or equivalent calories the person(s) wish to take; at least one level and weight sensor;

at least one communication device; and

at least one electronic controlling device, capable of reading a preference from the user(s) from a preset listing, quantities, cooking times and conditions, determining a quantity in the storage using the level and/or weight sensors, comparing the quantity with a prescribed contentment quantity, and display them based on the comparisons on the output device and on the preferred communication device over a communication network.

2. The device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the device is so configured to make south Indian delicacies dosa and idly simultaneously.

3. The device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the batter is prepared and placed in the cylindrical container (104) by dismantling the pushing means with push bar/rod setup (106) for preparing dosa before starting the device (100).

4. The device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the batter inside the container (104) is dispensed uniformly with the push bar (106) on to the pan (102), after receiving the instructions by the user regarding the quantity of units/dosa’s to be made.

5. The device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the uniform dispensing of the batter is made possible through the three way sliding of the cylindrical container (104) with the aid of gantry (112) and slider (110) attached to the container on the grooves of device platform (103).

6. The device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the heating of the pan (102) is carried out by the steamer/heater unit under the pan structure (105) with controlled intensity of the heating, responsive to temperature required for preparing the recipe.

The device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the finished unit/dosa is rolled from the pan (102) with the C-shaped arm (108) by sliding over the grooves (114) on the sides of the cooking platform (103) and returns to its position before making another unit/dosa throughout the cooking process.

8. The device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the pan structure (105) is detachable from the grooves (116) of the platform (103) for converting the device for making idly whenever desired by the user.

9. The device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the autonomous convertible cooking device (100) is equipped with weight sensors for measuring ingredient levels in the storage means for the food being prepared.

10. The autonomous convertible cooking device (200) according to claim 1, wherein the idly setup (200) of the device comprises:

a plurality of pallets (220) with hollow circular impressions (221) on them to collect dispensed batter;

a stacker (222) for stacking the pallets (220) dispensed with batter for cooking/heating and a steamer/heating unit (224) within the stacker (222) for heating the pallets

(220) ;

The device (200) with idly setup as claimed in claim 9, wherein the batter is uniformly dispensed according to the user’ s instruction onto the pallets (220) with the aid of gantry (212) and slider (210) through the grooves (216) on the platform (203) and gantry grooves (218) similar to the three way sliding according to claim 4.

12. The device (200) as claimed in claim 9, wherein the batter dispensed pallets (220) are conveyed through the grooves (216) of the platform (203) into the stacker (222) and are placed on top of one another.

13. The device (200) as claimed in claim 9, wherein the stacker (222) cooks idly by heating the pallets (220) with the steamer setup (224) inside of it.

14. The device (200) as claimed in claim 9, wherein the device operates with an alternate current source connected to mains.

15. The device (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the electronic controlling device performs a health check of the device and holds the device in its idle state until a command for cooking is received.

16. The device (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the communications over a network is through home wireless internet connectivity or by a WiFI/GSM based internet connectivity.

17. The device (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the device is for making idly, dosa’s and the like.

18. A method of operating an autonomous cooking device over a communication network and cooking desired quantities of idly or dosa, wherein the method comprises steps of: placing, the batter inside the cylindrical container (104) of the unit; uniform dispensing of required amount of batter onto the pan (102) or pallets (220) for making dosa or idly respectively;

allowing a user to connect remotely to the cooking device with use of the user’s communication device connected to an electronic controller of the device; inputting preferences to make desired quantity of units/dosa or idly based on number of persons or based on equivalent calories they wish to take; and the electronic controlling device, capable of reading the preference from the user from a preset listing, quantities, cooking times and conditions, also determines a quantity in the storage using a plurality of level and/or weight sensors.

Technical Field of the Invention

The invention relates to an autonomous cooking device for making Idly, dosa’s, omelets, crepes, pancakes, and the like connected to a platform via internet and operated through a mobile application. More particularly, relates to an improved version of a cooking device which performs end-to-end cooking operations automatically by itself and is controlled from remote location

Background of the Invention

Present modern life style has forced many people to resort to unhealthy food habits. In earlier days people had enough time on their hands to cook and eat healthy foods but now-a-days we tend to prefer a quick meal such as junk food and fast food. Only when we land into trouble we realize the bad state of affairs which are being the side effects of the modern life style.

Now-a-days many working professionals and busy people are not having enough time to spare in the kitchen due to their busy schedules. To solve this problem, many devices such as microwaves, rice-cookers, pressure-cookers are developed which are convenient to use but need user presence to measure, wash and cook rice or other recipes.

Therefore, it will be advantageous to develop a solution which enables busy professionals to prepare quality and healthy food from any remote location for better eating and to reduce consumption of fast food which is unhealthy.

Brief Summary of the Invention

According to first aspect of the present invention, an autonomous convertible cooking device is disclosed. The cooking device comprises a platform with grooves for accommodating a gantry and a pan structure. The cooking device also comprises a cylindrical container to store batter. It has a pushing means to discharge the batter atop of the pan for cooking. It comprises a heating pan structure mounted on a platform through the grooves provided on its sides for heating the batter. The cooking device also comprises a gantry with a slider provisioned to deliver three way sliding of the container and the slider. In accordance with the first aspect of the present invention, the cooking device further comprises a C-shaped arm to carry out the cooked batter as a roll by sliding through the grooves on the platform. It has an input/output device for a user to access the autonomous cooking device, and to enter preferences, type of dish to be prepared, quantity of dish to be cooked based on number of persons or equivalent calories the person(s) wish to take.

In accordance with the first aspect of the present invention, the device further comprises at least one level and weight sensor, at least one communication device; and at least one electronic controlling device, capable of reading a preference from the user(s) from a preset listing, quantities, cooking times and conditions, determining a quantity in the storage using the level and/or weight sensors, comparing the quantity with a prescribed contentment quantity, and display them based on the comparisons on the output device and on the preferred communication device over a communication network.

In accordance with the first aspect of the present invention, the device is so configured to make south Indian delicacies dosa and idly simultaneously.

In accordance with the first aspect of the present invention, the batter is prepared and placed in the cylindrical container by dismantling the pushing means with push bar/rod setup for preparing dosa before starting the device.

In accordance with the first aspect of the present invention, the batter inside the container is dispensed uniformly with the push bar on to the pan, after receiving the instructions by the user regarding the quantity of units/dosa’s to be made.

In accordance with the first aspect of the present invention, the uniform dispensing of the batter is made possible through the three-way sliding of the cylindrical container with the aid of gantry and slider attached to the container on the grooves of device platform.

In accordance with the first aspect of the present invention, the heating of the pan is carried out by the steamer/heater unit under the pan structure with controlled intensity of the heating, responsive to temperature required for preparing the recipe.

B In accordance with the first aspect of the present invention, the finished unit/dosa is rolled from the pan with the C-shaped arm by sliding over the grooves on the sides of the cooking platform and returns to its position before making another unit/dosa throughout the cooking process.

In accordance with the first aspect of the present invention, the pan structure is detachable from the grooves of the platform for converting the device for making idly whenever desired by the user.

In accordance with the first aspect of the present invention, the autonomous convertible cooking device is equipped with weight sensors for measuring ingredient levels in the storage means for the food being prepared.

According to second aspect of the present invention, an idly setup of the device comprises a plurality of pallets with hollow circular impressions on them to collect dispensed batter; a stacker for stacking the pallets dispensed with batter for cooking/heating; and a steamer/heating unit within the stacker for heating the pallets;

In accordance with the second aspect of the present invention, the batter is uniformly dispensed according to the user’ s instruction onto the pallets with the aid of gantry and slider through the grooves on the platform and gantry grooves similar to the three-way sliding according to claim 4.

In accordance with the second aspect of the present invention, the batter dispensed pallets are conveyed through the grooves of the platform into the stacker and are placed on top of one another.

In accordance with the second aspect of the present invention, the stacker cooks idly by heating the pallets with the steamer setup inside of it.

In accordance with the first and second aspects of the present invention, the device operates with an alternate current source connected to mains. In accordance with the first and second aspects of the present invention, the electronic controlling device performs a health check of the device and holds the device in its idle state until a command for cooking is received.

In accordance with the first and second aspects of the present invention, the communications over a network is through home wireless internet connectivity or by a WiFi/GSM based internet connectivity.

In accordance with the first and second aspects of the present invention, the device is for making idly, dosa’s and the like.

According to a third aspect of the present invention, a method of operating an autonomous cooking device over a communication network and cooking desired quantities of idly or dosa, wherein the method comprises steps of: placing, the batter inside the cylindrical container of the unit; uniform dispensing of required amount of batter onto the pan or pallets for making dosa or idly respectively; allowing a user to connect remotely to the cooking device with use of the user’s communication device connected to an electronic controller of the device; inputting preferences to make desired quantity of units/dosa or idly based on number of persons or based on equivalent calories they wish to take; and the electronic controlling device, capable of reading the preference from the user from a preset listing, quantities, cooking times and conditions, also determines a quantity in the storage using a plurality of level and/or weight sensors.

From a reading of the description above of the preferred embodiment of the present invention, modifications and variations thereto may occur to those skilled in the art. Therefore, the scope of the present invention is to be limited only by the claims of this invention.

Brief Description of the Drawings

FIG. 1 illustrates the autonomous convertible cooking device with dosa setup for making dosa’s, omelets and the like according to the embodiment of the invention. FIG. 2 illustrates the dough making compart autonomous convertible cooking device with idly setup for the preparation of idly according to the second embodiment of the invention.

Detailed Description of the Invention

This invention is directed towards autonomous convertible cooking device with two setups which helps in saving time and providing nutritious and well-balanced meals.

Referring to the drawings, wherein like reference numerals designate identical or corresponding systems, preferred embodiments of the present invention are described.

According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, an autonomous convertible cooking device is disclosed. Referring to FIG. 1, the cooking device comprises a platform (103) with grooves (116) for accommodating a gantry (112) and a pan structure (105). The cooking device also comprises a cylindrical container (104) to store batter. It has a pushing means (106) to discharge the batter atop of the pan (102) for cooking. It comprises a heating pan structure (105) mounted on a platform (103) through the grooves (116) provided on its sides for heating the batter. The cooking device also comprises a gantry (112) with a slider (110) provisioned to deliver three way sliding of the container (104) and the slider (110).

In accordance with the exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the cooking device further comprises a C-shaped arm (108) to carry out the cooked batter as a roll by sliding through the grooves (114) on the platform. In accordance with the exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the batter is uniformly dispensed according to the user’s instruction onto the pallets (220) with the aid of gantry (212) and slider (210) through the grooves (216) on the platform (203) and gantry grooves (218) similar to the three way sliding according to claim 4.

In accordance with the exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the batter dispensed pallets (220) are conveyed through the grooves (216) of the platform (203) into the stacker (222) and are placed on top of one another.

In accordance with the exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the stacker (222) cooks idly by heating the pallets (220) with the steamer setup (224) inside of it.

In accordance with the exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the device operates with an alternate current source connected to mains.
