Abstract:
A back light device (2) with high and less-nonuniform brightness, comprising a translucent sheet (6) having a light diffusivity, light emitting elements (5) disposed behind the translucent sheet (6), and a prism sheet (7) disposed between the light emitting elements (5) and the translucent sheet (6) and having a prism surface (72) having, thereon, a plurality rows of prism parts (73) of generally V-shape in cross section each having a pair of sloped surfaces (bottom sides B and C) crossing with each other at the tip part (A1) thereof and a flat surface part (71) formed on the surface opposite to the prism surface (72), wherein the prism sheet (7) is disposed apart the distances (W1) and (W2) from the light emitting elements (5) and the translucent sheet (6), respectively, so that the prism surface (72) faces the light emitting element (5) side.
