This invention provides technology capable of more flexibly determining a fee and improving customer satisfaction when a measurement quantity of baggage is automatically measured.　This baggage reception system calculates a service usage fee, such calculation based on which of a plurality of classifications a measurement value (for example, a size measurement value S) relating to a baggage measurement quantity belongs to. The baggage reception system determines (S45) that the size measurement value S belongs to a classification G1 if the size measurement value S is smaller than a reference value B1 for distinguishing between adjacent classifications G1 and G2, and determines (S55) that the size measurement value S belongs to the classification G2 if the size measurement value S is greater than the reference value B1 and the difference value ΔF1 between the size measurement value S and the reference value B1 is greater than a prescribed value α1. Meanwhile, even if the size measurement value S is greater than the reference value B1, the size measurement value S is determined to belong to the classification G1 when the difference value ΔF1 is smaller than the prescribed value α1 (Yes in step S42).
