Abstract:
Disclosed is a balance weight device for an elevator, which is capable of lowering a hoist way.
Specifically disclosed is a balance weight device (7) which is provided with a balance weight (19) that is provided within a hoist way (3) of an elevator (1) so as to move up and down, and a pair of suspension sheaves (21) for a weight. The pair of suspension sheaves (21) for the weight is provided on the undersurface of the balance weight (19). The pair of suspension sheaves (21) for the weight is disposed in such a manner that the guiding direction thereof is inclined to the widthwise direction of the balance weight (19).
