A balancing mechanism, comprising two sets of fixed brackets (2), the two sets of fixed brackets (2) being arranged opposite to one another on a mounting plate (8), wheel sets being arranged on the two sets of fixed brackets (2), the wheel sets comprising a guide pulley (3), a winding wheel (5), and a reel shaft (4), the guide pulley (3) being arranged at the front end of the fixed bracket, the winding wheel (5) being arranged in the middle of the fixed bracket, and the reel shaft (4) connecting the winding wheels (5) on the two sets of fixed brackets (2), one end of the reel shaft (4) being connected in turn to a decelerator (6) and a motor (7), a steel cable (1) being wound onto the winding wheels (5), and the steel cable (1) being guided by the guide pulleys (3), and the tail end of the steel cable (1) being connected and secured to a fixing apparatus arranged on the mounting plate (8). The balancing mechanism is arranged on the mounting plate (8), part of the dead weight of a feeding mechanism arranged on the mounting plate (8) being balanced by means of the balancing mechanism, thereby extending the service life of load-bearing parts such as a ball bearing screw rods in the feeding mechanism. The balancing mechanism is used for stabilising a machine tool, and is used for balancing the dead weight of the machine tool.
