Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a balloon for balloon catheters, which can be easily prevented from the breakage in the peripheral direction even when the balloon is broken. Provided is a balloon (20) for balloon catheters, which is formed from a resin having a molecular orientation and has a straight tube part (23), a proximal end-side tapered part (22) and a distal end-side tapered part (24), in which the straight tube part (23) has a longer axis direction-oriented region having a cosφ of 0.7 or more in a central section (23C) located between a 30% position (D30) and a 70% position (D70) when, among angles formed between the direction of the molecular orientation and the longer axis direction x, an angle of 90° or less is defined as φ, the proximal end of the straight tube part (23) is defined as a 0% position (D0) and the distal end of the straight tube part (23) is defined as a 100% position in the longer axis direction x.
