Abstract:
The present invention provides a banknote handling device adhering to a decrease in size and cost, and improving satisfaction of users and financial institutions. A banknote handling device having: a banknote deposit/withdrawal unit having a delivery unit for delivering inserted banknotes one by one or an accumulation unit for accumulating, one by one, banknotes to be discharged; a banknote discrimination unit for discriminating the banknotes delivered one by one by the banknote deposit/withdrawal unit; and a temporary storage unit for temporarily accumulating the banknotes, wherein the temporary storage unit is provided with: a first transportation path disposed vertically above the banknote discrimination unit and horizontally behind the banknote deposit/withdrawal unit, the first transportation unit transporting the banknotes between the delivery unit of the banknote deposit/withdrawal unit and the front part of the banknote discrimination unit; a second transportation unit for transporting the banknotes from the rear part of the banknote discrimination unit, through a curved part and above the banknote discrimination unit, to the temporary storage unit; a third transportation path for transporting the banknotes from the second transportation path to the accumulation unit of the deposit/withdrawal unit; and a first branching part for distributing the banknotes from the second transportation path to the third transportation path, the first branching part being disposed vertically above the banknote discrimination unit.
