Abstract:
A base station for performing radio communication with a vehicle in a transport communication system, in a first mode for setting a directivity pattern in the radio communication, acquires and holds, on the basis of a radio signal received by a communication unit from the vehicle, directivity setting information including at least one of the location of the vehicle, an arriving direction of the radio signal, and an antenna weight. The base station switches from the first mode to a second mode in which the directivity pattern is formed and the radio communication is performed, and, in the second mode, forms the directivity pattern on the basis of the held directivity setting information.
