Abstract:
Provided is a genetically recombinant host useful in the production of a heterologous protein on a large scale by means of suppressing the production of extracellular polysaccharides in a basidiomycetous yeast. A Cryptococcus sp. S-2 D11 strain (FERM BP-11482) is characterized by having a suppressed production of extracellular polysaccharides compared to a parent strain.
