Abstract:
A battery charging apparatus (1000) selectively performs a first operation of charging a main battery (MBA) and a sub-battery (SBA) with a current supplied from an external power supply (AC), and a second operation of charging the sub-battery (SBA) with a current supplied from the main battery (MBA). The battery charging apparatus is provided with: a power supply circuit (1); a transformer (3); a secondary-side circuit (4) which, during a first period in which the first operation is performed, supplies a current to the main battery (MBA) by rectifying a voltage induced by means of a winding wire (302), and during a second period in which the second operation is performed, supplies a current to the winding wire (302) by converting, into an alternating current voltage, a direct-current voltage supplied from the main battery (MBA); a conduction angle adjusting circuit (7); and a control circuit (10). The secondary-side circuit (4) is a full bridge circuit wherein a plurality of arms are connected in parallel, each of said arms being configured by connecting in series a plurality of parallel connected bodies, each of which is configured of a switching means and a rectifying means connected in parallel to each other.
