Abstract:
A battery management system having a hierarchical structure according to an embodiment of the present invention may comprise: a plurality of slave BMSs; and a master BMS that operates in conjunction with the plurality of slave BMSs, and monitors a battery group consisting of a plurality of batteries. Here, the master BMS may be configured to collect, from the plurality of slave BMSs, status information about one or more batteries, and to collect, from a group status information collection device provided therein, status information about the battery group, and the plurality of slave BMSs and the group status information collection device may be configured to be sequentially connected through a serial communication network.
