Abstract:
The present invention relates to a battery module characterized by comprising: a plurality of battery cells each having an electrode lead in order to prevent heat transfer to adjacent battery cells when thermal runaway occurs in a battery cell; a case in which the plurality of battery cells are accommodated; and a heat insulating member positioned between the plurality of battery cells and blocking heat transfer to the adjacent battery cells, wherein the heat insulating member has a composite structure including a support which is made of a plastic with a melting point lower than the temperature during thermal runaway on the outside, and a heat-resistant material with a melting point higher than the temperature during thermal runaway on the inside.
