Abstract:

The present invention provides a battery module for protecting inner components from external impacts and efficiently preventing inner short-circuiting. A battery module according to the present invention for accomplishing the above purpose comprises: multiple can-type secondary batteries arranged so as to lie in the horizontal direction; a busbar, at least a part of which is made of an electroconductive material so as to electrically connect the multiple can-type secondary batteries; at least two module cases configured to be stacked in the direction in which the can-type secondary batteries lie, each module case having an empty space formed therein such that the multiple can-type secondary batteries are inserted/contained therein, having an outer wall formed to surround the inner empty space, and having at least two ribs formed to protrude outwards from the outer walls; and an inner plate interposed between the at least two module cases and configured to be erected perpendicularly to the direction in which the module cases are stacked.
