Abstract:
Disclosed is a battery module. The battery module according to the present invention comprises: a cell stack configured such that pouch type battery cells are horizontally stacked, positioned upright side by side; and a module housing for receiving the cell stack. The module housing comprises: a lower plate which is provided in the form of a tetragonal plate to support the cell stack from the bottom thereof; and a first left pressure plate and a first right pressure plate which upwardly extend from the parallel edges on both sides of the lower plate so as to each form an acute angle with respect to the vertically upward direction such that the distance between the first left pressure plate and the first right pressure plate becomes narrower in the upward direction, wherein the first left pressure plate and the first right pressure plate are elastic. Accordingly, the first left pressure plate and the first right pressure plate are elastically biased and can press two side surfaces of the cell stack..
