The present application provides a battery and a battery module. The battery comprises a housing, a battery cell and a current collector disk. An accommodating cavity is formed in the housing, and a pressure relief valve is provided on the housing. The battery cell is provided in the accommodating cavity. The current collector disk is provided with a first side face and a second side face which are oppositely provided; the first side face is connected to an end face of the battery cell; the second side face is connected to the cavity bottom of the accommodating cavity; a first groove is formed in the first side face; the first groove is spaced apart from the end face of the battery cell; a second groove is formed in the second side face; the pressure relief valve is opposite to the position of the second groove; the edge of the current collector disk and the cavity wall of the accommodating cavity are spaced apart to form a connecting channel; and the first groove and the second groove are communicated with each other by means of the connecting channel.
