Abstract:

Provided are a battery pack capable of improving energy density while ensuring structural stability of a battery module and a vehicle comprising the battery pack. The battery pack according to the present invention comprises: at least one battery module; and a pack case for housing the battery module therein. The battery module comprises: a battery cell stack including at least one battery cell; and a pair of end plates provided at opposite sides of the battery cell in the lengthwise direction, to be in close contact with the front and rear portions of the battery cell stack. The pack case comprises: a tray for allowing the battery module to be mounted on the upper surface thereof; and a top cover having an outer circumference which is engaged in a face-to-face manner with the outer circumference of the tray on the upper surface of the tray in a state of housing the battery module therein. Thus, the end plates provide mechanical support for protecting the battery cell.
